YSF Webinar: Sampling and Analytical Techniques for Microplastic Detection in Water
The 6th webinar of a series of online knowledge sharing sessions organized by the Young Scientists Forum (YSF) of the National Science and Technology Commission (NASTEC) for the fourth consecutive year of 2024, was held on 12th December 2024 under the title ‘Sampling and Analytical Techniques for Microplastic Detection in Water’. The webinar was designed with the main objective of providing participants with an overview of current sampling and analytical techniques for detecting microplastics in water, along with best practices for quality control and assurance, following ISO standards, and Dr. Kushani Mahatantila, Senior Research Scientist, Industrial Technology Institute, addressed the online audience as the guest speaker and resource person. Dr. Anushka Upamali Rajapaksha, Director, Ecosphere Resilience Research Centre, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, coordinated and moderated the session. The webinar concluded successfully after a Q&A session and more than 120 participants joined the session.
