NASTEC successfully held the Second Technical Consultation Meeting of the Technical Working Group of the 10th Biennial Conference on Science and Technology (BICOST X – 2026) on 10th July 2026 at the Sethsiripaya Premises, Battaramulla.
This session focused on the scope of the framework, the structure of the roadmap, the required data, and the types of data models essential for its formulation. Deliberations further emphasized the main pillars to be addressed under the core areas of; Disaster Hazard Analysis, Governance and Finance, Research and Innovation.
The meeting highlighted the importance of integrating scientific evidence, robust governance, and innovative solutions into disaster risk reduction strategies.
Through BICOST X, NASTEC continues to foster multi-stakeholder collaboration and reinforce the role of science, technology, and innovation in building a safer, sustainable, and future-ready Sri Lanka
